SMITH VS EGGINGTON

 

Liam Smith and Sam Eggington meet in the main event of a big card in Liverpool.

 

Former junior middleweight titleholder Liam Smith returns home to Liverpool on Saturday, headlining a big night of action against Sam Eggington.

 

The card will also feature a 154-pound grudge match between Anthony Fowler and Scott Fitzgerald, Joe Hughes and Robbie Davies Jr facing off for the European and British titles at 140, and Philip Bowes defending his 140-pound Commonwealth title against Tom Farrell.

 

The card starts at 6pm GMT/ 3 pm ET, and will stream live on DAZN in the United States, while airing on Sky Sports Main Event in the United Kingdom.

A 175-pound world title is on the line on Saturday night in Philadelphia.

 

WBC light heavyweight titleholder Oleksandr Gvozdyk makes his first defense on Saturday night against Doudou Ngumbu, with welterweights Egidijus Kavaliauskas and Ray Robinson battling in the co-feature.

 

Gvozdyk-Ngumbu will air live on ESPN, starting at 10 pm ET, with prelim undercard bouts beginning at 6 pm ET, streaming live on ESPN+. The prelim portion of the card will feature an IBF welterweight eliminator between Kudratillo Abdukakhorov and Keita Obara.

Top lightweight prospect Ryan Garcia and junior flyweight titleholder Angel Acosta return to the ring on Saturday night, with Garcia facing Jose Lopez in a 10-round main event, and Acosta defending his WBO title against Ganigan Lopez.

The fights begin at 7:30 pm ET, streaming live on DAZN. The show will also feature Rocky Hernandez, Danielito Zorrilla, Antonio Orozco, and Joet Gonzalez, among others.

Kerman Lejarraga faces David Avanesyan this Saturday night in Spain.

 

The clash will see 27-year-old Spanish star, Lejarraga defending his EBU European Welterweight Title. Lejarraga is currently world ranked #2 by the WBC, #3 by the IBF, and #5 by the WBA and WBO. The heavy-handed star scored three knockouts in 2018.
