Pound for pound boxing star Vasiliy Lomachenko is getting ready for his latest challenge in the ring this Friday night when he steps in there with former world champion and highly respected UK fighter Anthony Crolla from Manchester, England.
Lomachenko is a strong favorite in the bout butknows that if he wins in impressive fashion calls will come once again for him to take on some of the big names in or around his division.
One such name for a while now has been Floyd Mayweather protege Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis who has impressed hugely in his young pro career so far.
Outside of one blip were he didn’t make weight and lost his title on the scales that is.
His talent, like Lomachenko’s, is undeniable from a technical standpoint but Lomachenko feels Davis is afraid of him:
Michael Benson-Vasyl Lomachenko on Gervonta Davis: “I can fight with him for free. I don’t need the money, I can [fight him] for my goal. But he’ll never step in the ring for free. Never.”
Not long ago the two were linked with a fight but alas it didn’t come to fruition.
Both are at different stages of their professional career at the moment and one gets the impression that a fight between the two could be a bit away just yet.
