There was a shock result on the early portion of Billy Joe Saunders’ undercard on Saturday night as Harley Benn suffered his first career defeat.
The 22-year-old lost a four-round decision (39-37) to journeyman Lee Hallett who had a record of zero wins and 16 losses heading into the bout, and picked up his first career victory on the night.
Appearing on shows staged by promoter Frank Warren, Harley had built up a record of 6-0 before meeting Hallett, though he is now 6-1.
He is the son of Nigel Benn and half-brother of fellow rising prospect Conor Benn.
Nigel is a British boxing legend who competed between 1987-1996 and won world titles in two divisions.
The now retired 55-year-old is most well known for his iconic rivalry with Chris Eubank.
